FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Prague – Following strong demand for CIO-focused research in the U.S. market, International Data Corporation (IDC) is pleased to announce the launch of its IT Executive Program in the Central and eastern Europe (CEE) Region. Featuring a compelling mix of accurate and timely fact-based research and advisory services, IDC’s IT Executive Program is tailored specifically to help enterprises across the region mitigate risks, maximize the effectiveness of their IT investments, identify new opportunities, and bring forth solutions that are aligned with overarching business objectives.

“The program is designed to empower the CIO to be a driver of innovation in the organization,"

Enterprises and CIOs Facing Major Disruption

Technology-intensive industries, and many industries that until recently were not considered technology dependent, are undergoing a transformation more fundamental than any since the Industrial Revolution. Digitalization, and particularly the potent combination of cloud, mobile, big data, and social technologies, have upended established business models in the transportation, hospitality, and real estate sectors, and many other areas are soon to be affected.

Those business leaders that grasp this increasing importance of digital mastery are demanding more tech innovation from their CIOs and IT organizations.  In many cases, if these leaders cannot get the solutions they want fast enough internally, they are bypassing IT and sourcing technology and business services directly via the cloud, which is underscored by the more than 70% of new digital transformation spending that occurs outside the official IT budget.

“IDC’s IT Executive Program is tailored to support the CIO to understand what digital transformation means for his or her industry,” says Tom Schwieters, VP of Sales for IDC CEE and MEA. “The program is designed to empower the CIO to be a driver of innovation in the organization, to help the CIO define his/her new role as technology becomes more integral to the business, and to concurrently support the real need to “keep the lights on” by maintaining and optimizing the existing infrastructure, service levels, and unavoidable legacy systems.”

Thought-Leading Research and Advisory – Tuned to the CEE Reality

Over the last year, leveraging its network of 120 regional analysts and another 1,000 analysts around the globe, IDC has helped CIOs in CEE to answer specific questions: How will big data impact the pharmaceuticals manufacturing market? How can oil and gas enterprises adapt to digital office trends? What technologies and vendors should a large utilities firm consider when implementing its private cloud service? How should a national emergency authority organize its IT team?

IDC brings several strengths to bear to respond to such questions — cutting-edge global technology insights and methodologies, sector specific expertise in six key industries (Insights divisions), a network of country-level analysts and data from around the region, and its deep understanding of how companies in this region operate and adopt particular technologies.

IDC’s Maturityscape framework, for example, enables the measurement of an organization’s development in numerous technology areas and management disciplines, and provides concrete guidance to lead the company to the desired level of maturity. But the frame of reference is not simply global best practices, but also the experiences of companies from the same industry and the same region. These Maturity Assessment and Benchmarking projects give CIOs valuable decision-making support regarding investment priorities and how best to support business units to improve the competitive position of the company.
